Auction. 16,000 euros for a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1.

A sneaker auction on Sunday in Paris totaled some 120,000 euros, with a record 16,120 euros for a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1, we learned from Millon.

The star lot was a pair of Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White, prized thanks to the signature marker on the side of the sole of the creator of this model in white leather Virgil Abloh. Second most expensive pair, Jordan 1 Retro High Dior left for 9,672 euros.

The other sneakers reached more reasonable amounts, starting with Nike Air Vapormax Black “The 10” Off-White for 1,240 euros.

The Millon house, in a press release sent to AFP, welcomed a “result well beyond expectations”, with 70% of the 207 lots that were sold, more than 250 bidders connected online and a full house.

Sneakers (“sneakers” for enthusiasts) have acquired in recent years a status of collector’s item which is of increasing interest to auctioneers, who have come to compete with online sales platforms (eBay, StockX).
