Audi is pulling out all the stops for an ultimate version of the R8 in rear-wheel drive, powerful and fun.
Audi did itself good and did us good by unveiling a rear-wheel-drive Audi R8 a few years ago. From now on, the manufacturer with the Rings will lift the veil on a limited version named GT RWD which risks being one of the last R8 with V10 engine. So they went all out!
This series will be limited to 333 copies of which 26 will be reserved for France. Under the hood, still this fabulous Atmospheric V10 pushed here to 620 horsepower either as much as in Performance. It will be the most powerful propulsion ever produced by Audi.
The dual-clutch transmission has been revised and Audi promises even better performance with 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, a 0 to 200 in 10.1 seconds et 320 km/h top speed.
Ready to drift?
The manufacturer has opted for a Torque Rear, a system that manages the torque of the rear axle through seven levels. Level 1 therefore offers low skating while level 7 will allow you to slide as you please on your favorite circuit. It’s the car itself, depending on the mode you select, that will accompany you in your slides. It will therefore take into account the information provided by the wheel speed sensors, the steering angle, the position of the accelerator pedal and the gear selected to adapt the torque to the rear wheels.
A revised design
level design, a gloss black carbon aero kit was laid on the supercar. It includes a front bumper with splitters, a front splitter, front deflectors, side skirt protectors, and side scoops. Of course a spoiler is located at the rear of the R8 GT RWD.
The price is rather salty since we are talking about at least 245.000 euros to afford the GT.
