ACTRESS Aurelie Moeremans decided to hand over her pet bird to captivity. The reason is, he recently learned that the bird species he keeps, namely the Sun Conure, is a protected species.

In her Instagram upload, Aurelie said that the beautiful yellow, red and green bird was named Mango. The 30-year-old actress has been keeping the bird for almost a year.

“I got him (Mango) because he was there, inspired by a friend who also likes nature. Well, the mistake is, I didn’t look for information first about this bird. I thought, it’s impossible for my friend to have an endangered bird. “It turns out I was wrong,” said Aurelie.

He only found out that the Sun Conure bird was a protected species after his video on social media with Mango went viral on the internet. In that post, many of his followers warned that the bird was threatened with extinction.

“Honestly, I feel really guilty. “Because I bought it because I was following along and didn’t look for information about the Sun Conure first,” he added.

Because he is aware of his role as a public figure who has many followers on the internet, he does not want many of his followers to end up being inspired to care for and protect wild animals. Finally, Aurelie decided to take the bird to Jagat Satwa Nusantara.

According to him, based on the local veterinarian’s explanation, it seems that this species is legal to keep in Indonesia. However, he remained adamant about releasing the bird in captivity.

“I think he will be happier here too. The place is really big, it’s really nice here. He has to be examined and then undergo two weeks of quarantine, then he can join his friends if he is approved. “I’m gonna miss you Mango,” concluded Aurelie. (Z-3)
