Australian GP F1 2022: Checo Prez finishes second in Australia and gets his first podium of 2022

Cfashion, very comfortable victory for Charles Leclerc in Australia, where Checo Prez finished in second place to add his first podium of the 2022 season and jump right into the fight.

This podium is also the first for Pérez in that country, where his best position had been seventh place obtained in 2017 with Force India.

The Mexican was involved in a couple of battles against Lewis Hamilton, as happened last year in Yas Marina but Checo came out victorious on both occasions to stay in the fight for the podium.

The bad news for the Red Bull was given by Max Verstappen, who suffered failures in his car and had to abandon the race when I was in second position.

On the opposite side of the coin are the two Mercedes, since George Russell ended up on the podium due to Verstappen’s failure and Hamilton was fourth place on the track

If there is talk of improvement over the two previous races, the note also has to be for McLaren with its two drivers scoring points (Lando Norris fifth and Daniel Ricciardo sixth).

with the win, Checo Prez is now in fourth place in the drivers’ world championship with 30 points and is fully involved in the fight against Leclerc, Russell and Sainz.
