Melbourne: Reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina defeated two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka to enter the Australian Open final. The 23-year-old won by 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. Asaranka’s dream of winning the title following a gap of 10 years ended.
Rybakina’s opponent in Saturday’s final will be the winner of the semi-final between Belarus’ fifth seed Arayna Zebalanka and Sweden’s Paul Magda Linette.
