It’s no secret that Austria’s largest city has a lot of sealed soil. There is a table on this in the Cities Association’s 2023 report “Number of Austrian Cities”. Of the 75 cities belonging to the Cities Association, the cities of Holabrunn (484), Misterbach (465) and Schwechat (410) in Lower Austria have the highest “sealed area per square meter per person” Top of the category. This is probably the least surprising thing about Schwechat Airport.
