The two Austrian golf professionals Sepp Straka and Lukas Nemecz made the cut at the BMW PGA Championship in Surrey (England) on Friday. At the halfway point at the Wentworth Club, Straka was in seventh place with a total of eight under par, while Nemecz started the weekend in 39th place with three under par. The two Swedes Ludvig Aaberg and Sebastian Söderberg were in the lead with ten under par each.

Straka played a strong round of 66 and moved up 26 places. The 30-year-old managed three under par on the first six holes and added birdies on holes 11, 12 and 18.

Nemecz played a round of 70 and was happy regarding a recent, rare sense of success. “I’m very happy to finally make a cut once more. I’ve missed six cuts recently, which has never happened to me in my professional career. I’m technically back where I want to be,” said Nemecz, who is recovering from a ” “Disastrous start” (Nemecz) didn’t let us throw him off track with three missed strokes on the first three holes.
