Tampere — Austria’s ice hockey team remain top-flight after a heart-stopping final at the World Championships in Tampere. On Monday, the ÖEHV selection won the direct duel against Hungary 4:3 after a penalty shoot-out (1:2,2:1,0:0,0:0 – 1:0) and qualified for the A-WM from May 10th to 26th, 2024 in the Czech Republic (Prague, Ostrava). Goalkeeper Bernhard Starkbaum could not be defeated in the penalty shoot-out (2:0).
