One day during the pandemic, a mother throws herself off the balcony – this is the starting point of Mareike Fallwickl’s novel The anger that remains. The best friend takes on the role of mother, the eldest daughter takes refuge in violence. The Salzburg Festival is showing a dramatization of the successful novel at the Landestheater from August 18th. A conversation with the author, who was born in Hallein near Salzburg, has two children herself and works half-half with her husband.
