“Authorities claim that Ramadan promotions alleviate the effects of rising chicken and egg prices on the market”

Retail outlets officials have stated that the increase in prices of poultry and eggs by 13%, recently approved by the Ministry of Economy, has not shown any immediate effects in the markets during the current period due to the Ramadan offers being offered before and during the month of Ramadan. The sales offers, which continue until the end of Ramadan, have provided alternatives at reduced prices for poultry and egg commodities. However, some consumers have reported that the effects of the increases have appeared in some outlets, especially the medium ones, while they have not appeared significantly in the outlets offering expanded offers for Ramadan discounts. The discounts may limit the price increases, but they are temporary, and they may appear during the coming days, and more after the end of the offers at the end of Ramadan. Nevertheless, the offers offered in Ramadan had positive effects in limiting the repercussions of the recent increases in poultry and egg prices. Most offers included poultry products at rates that reached 45%, while the planned increases were at rates of 13%. The offers and discounts will continue until the end of the Eid Al-Fitr period. Additionally, some suppliers are coordinating with sales outlets to offer reduced offers during the Ramadan period.
