Authorities identify eight new deaths linked to COVID-19 in Quebec

Eight other Quebecers have succumbed to COVID-19, according to the latest government report on Wednesday, which also shows a slight increase in hospitalizations.

Of these eight new deaths, none have occurred in the past 24 hours. Five occurred two to seven days ago, and three more than seven days ago.

Since the start of the pandemic, 18,252 Quebecers have lost their lives in connection with COVID-19.

Hospitalizations have seen an increase of 12 since Tuesday’s tally. There were 1,280 people with COVID-19 who are hospitalized, including 410 specifically due to the disease.

In intensive care, 26 people were treated, including 16 specifically for the disease, which represents a decrease of two patients.

The number of cases remained at a relatively low level, with 494 new infections, but remember that this data should be taken with a grain of salt given the limited access to screening centers. Quebecers also self-declared 51 rapid tests on Tuesday, including 45 positive.

On the side of vaccination once morest COVID-19, 2432 doses were administered on Tuesday.
