Avatar 2: The Way of Water

if James Cameron it says there is a lot of film in it. The director with a love for the oceans and a penchant for making film history. We have been waiting 13 years for the sequel to one of the greatest cinema successes in history. We return to Pandora. To Eywa and the Na’vi. We return to Jake Sully and his companion Neytiri. Avatar 2: The Way of Water should not only be a sequel to the first epic Aufbruch nach Pandora. It should pave the way for more films in this world. But can he do it?

Avatar 2: Movie Review – The most beautiful movie I’ve ever seen

I would like to roll out this film review a little differently. And don’t start with the story. Because with this point, the film will absolutely overwhelm you from the first to the last second. It’s probably the most beautiful film I’ve ever seen. Not just because I’m the best and stingy sharpest 3D images in a movie ever seen. But because apart from the 3D elements, every frame is so incredibly beautiful picture quality was that nothing will follow soon.

Avatar 2 you should definitely see it in the cinema. Not just because of the cinema experience itself and to save our cinemas. But because this film can unfold its full epic power on the screen. And this lies in the power of the image. James Cameron likes to put an extra dollar or two (or a few million) into his films to really get the most out of the actors and cameras. As far as I know, new technologies have already been developed specifically for him and his projects.

James Cameron’s love for the oceans

If you are the director of Avatar 2 and Titanic shouldn’t know yet. James Cameron is a fascinating person also away from the cinema. He becomes a very intense and loving affection for ours oceans said. According to rumours, he finances his projects with billions of cinema hits like Titanic and Avatar. To explore our seas and new ones Submarine Technologies to let develop. Again, just to delve even deeper into our seas. Presumably to find inspiration there for another blockbuster movie, to finance another expedition and so on.

This love for the seas is not only evident in Titanic, in which the diving scenes for the wreck of the Titanic were filmed with Cameron’s own submarine. But also in the new one Avatar: The Way of Water. Because contrary to the first part, which played exclusively in the jungle, part 2 takes place almost exclusively in the seas of Pandora. And what seas they are. The scenes, the flora and fauna that you have come up with here. Even the Na’vi sea peoples have evolved differently to adapt to life in the water. This depth of detail. And no, not just the depth of the sea. The details that have been considered here, it almost seems like a real nature documentary.

Avatar 2: Filmkritik – Story (Spoiler Free)

How does that work? the Story criticize here without spoilers? And why am I only getting to this important point now? Because the film is so f*kingly beautiful that it captivates you. I wasn’t bored for a single second because I was amazed by the visual violence didn’t come out. But often visual violence serves to distract from a really weak story. And in this case it would be more than enough visual power to distract from even a miserable story. So do I want to tell you that Avatar 2 has a lousy story?

No, not at all. It has a good, solid and even rich story. But that’s exactly it point of criticism. In the 3 hours and 12 minutes there is so much new story, which builds on part 1 and should level new parts. That there are some points which are not told to the end. Before anyone calls here “Of course that’s coming in the sequels!”. I’ve come that far. But it would not have been necessary to start so many different things, all of which only appear in the sequel Explanation to get. Because all these points were good and interesting and I wanted to learn more about them. And despite the length, hardly any of the points were actually told to the end.

Conclusion on Avatar 2: The Way of Water

What a movie. When you read about it, fans and critics are overjoyed and praising this film in high tones. Then you should know that this is really deserved. I was thoroughly entertained. And as already with Avatar 1 hat Part 2 managed to deliver a blockbuster where I really liked to have the 3D glasses on. Because the effects, the image shafts, the world, the whole experience. That was finally 3D as you really want it as a viewer. You really thought about it. thoughts on the pictorial implementation. Thoughts to create a world that you can almost feel and smell. Even how they explain certain plot points around deceased characters in order to have them reappear. Which you can easily see from the cast and the name. All of these explanations were coherent and plausible.

If the film hadn’t tried to pack so many new things into the story without telling it to the end. If my rating was one point higher. Had one more point Avatar 2 still get it, if the actual story of the sequel weren’t just a simple fight for revenge between the people who were expelled in part 1 and Jake Sully, who has now settled on Pandora, and the people of Pandora. The film rests a bit too much on the pictures and delivers a basic story that is a bit too clumsy. Not a bad story, but a bit too clumsy. Nevertheless a MUST SEE in cinemas. Have fun and enjoy the journey.
