Recently, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) once again asked Avianca for guarantees for Viva Air users who were affected by the closure of operations last February. This company will be in charge of relocating or giving discounts to those who still have tickets with the disappeared airline.
The commitment with the SIC is that the investigation into the failed integration of Avianca and Viva will be archived if before September 30, 2024 they solve the more than 200,000 people who are waiting for a response.

Two options to change Viva Air tickets
Use the purchased ticket, subject to availability: the SIC explained that those who have the ticket for the next dates and want to travel, have to go to Avianca the same day or the day before the flight so that this airline accommodates them on the closest plane , as long as availability is verified.
Discount for another flight: If you no longer want to use that ticket or if you prefer to travel to another destination, the other option that Avianca offers is a discount of up to 60% on a new ticket. In this case, the conditions vary.
If you want a size X or XS ticket on Avianca, you will get a 35% discount. In fares M, L and XL a discount of 60% is estimated.
Money back? But if the user does not want any of the above options and, on the contrary, wants the money back, this request must be made directly to Viva Air through a form.
