He considered that it should be verified how many can be relocated immediately and how many will have to wait. He said that Viva Air is currently in dissolution and liquidation. Therefore -in Colombia- labor rights are of the first order, “with which the company is obliged by virtue of the law to pay them as a privileged credit, the other creditors and according to the payment plan approved by the Superintendency must wait”.

The union adviser added that although the labor credits are paid first, the time is still uncertain, because according to the procedures that are being carried out, they can take between two and five years.

In this sense, the adviser said that the workers of Viva and the union organizations must begin an analysis process, “from there will come the legal alternatives that they have to safeguard their rights”.

He pointed out that even indirect workers could review the way to make legal claims (lawsuits) to defend their rights.

He also clarified that those actions that the workers can count on are directed against the institutions that were in charge of the integration decision and that the delay led to the company losing more and more assets and finally losing hope of recovering.
