Kozhikode – The anti-sewage plant demonstration in Avikal has been demolished. The pandal erected by the protesters in front of the project area was demolished. This is at a time when protests are intensifying once morest the sewage plant in Kothi. Locals are alleging that the corporation employees demolished the strike with the help of the police.
‘This is an area that has been guarded by the police for a year. Corporation officials and police reached Avikal in the evening on the day the construction of the plant started in Kothi. The 5,000 liter water tank and other materials were taken away. At night, the corporation officials came and demolished the pandal with the help of the police. They took away the things that we pay rent to.’- said the strike leaders.
