Vienna (OTS) – The Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Embassy of the United States of America in Austria and the University of Continuing Education Krems invite you to the 3rd autumn symposium “Current challenges in combating terrorism – the transatlantic perspective”.

The symposium will be opened by Interior Minister Gerhard Karner, the General Director of Public Security, Franz Ruf, the Rector of the University of Krems for Continuing Education, Friedrich Faulhammer and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Austria, Victoria Reggie Kennedy. This is followed by a lecture by the professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Bruce Hoffman, as well as a panel discussion with the head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, Omar Haijawi-Pirchner and the scientific director and coordinator of the research cluster “Counter-Terrorism, Countering Violent Extremism and Intelligence” at the University of Krems, Nicolas Stockhammer.
