Tehran – In Iran, two award-winning journalists have been sentenced to long prison sentences in connection with the nationwide protests in autumn 2022. A revolutionary court in Tehran sentenced Niloofar Hamedi to seven years in prison and Elaheh Mohammadi to six years in prison, the justice portal Mizan announced on Sunday. Both journalists were accused of collaborating with the United States and convicted of national security violations.
