On the 6th (Korean time), British media BBC announced the English Premier League (EPL) team of the week selected by football expert Garth Crooks.
The BBC chose ‘3-4-3’ as the team formation for the week. Up front were Mohamed Salah, Cody Hakpo (Liverpool) and Brennan Johnson (Nottingham Forest). Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), McAllister (Brighton), and Thomas Party (Arsenal) were selected in the midfield. A notable part of the team of the week is the selection of Liverpool players in all positions except midfield. Previously, Liverpool showed an overwhelming performance against Manchester United in the 26th round of the EPL and won 7-0.
Speaking of the game, Crookes said: “Man United have completely collapsed. I have never seen a match like this.” For this stellar performance, Crookes was named Player of the Week by four Liverpool players.
Salah attacked the opponent’s defense with organic movements and stood at the forefront of the attack. Salah, who scored two goals, recorded 129 points in Liverpool’s EPL career, surpassing Robbie Fowler (128 points) to become the club’s EPL’s highest scorer. “Being Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League is a good record,” Crookes said. However, when I saw Salah’s performance, I’m not at all surprised,” he said, selecting Salah as the team of the week.
