Scaling Agentic Workflows Across the Enterprise
Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Agentic AI at AWS, used his keynote to outline a singular engineering thesis: building autonomous software agents that compound value over time. That vision is materializing across three distinct operational pillars: daily productivity, infrastructure security, and application development.
For workplace productivity, Amazon Quick now allows developers to run multi-step agents directly inside a native desktop application. The tool aggregates scattered data feeds—including email, Slack channels, calendar entries, and task lists—into a single prioritized view governed by personalized automation rules.
Building and shipping code in a continuous loop got a major overhaul with updates to Kiro, AWS DevOps Agent, and AWS Transform. Kiro introduced a native iOS application for on-the-go management, while AWS DevOps Agent gained advanced release management capabilities to evaluate code pull requests before they hit production environments. Meanwhile, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore reached general availability, offering infrastructure and orchestration harnesses, integrated Web Search, Managed Knowledge Base systems, Guardrails policy integrations, and the brand-new AWS Context service to map intricate organizational data relationships.
Proactive Cloud Defense at Machine Speed
Security architectures are shifting from reactive patching to proactive validation. AWS Continuum leads this charge as a new AI-native security service designed to reason, validate, and execute mitigations at machine speed across the complete software vulnerability lifecycle.
As a core component of this service, AWS Security Agent introduces automated threat modeling, continuous pull request code scanning with automatic remediation across major Git platforms, and integrated IDE support via Kiro power, Claude Code plugins, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) standards. Enterprises operating in heavily regulated or air-gapped sectors can now leverage AWS Management Console Private Access, which routes administrative traffic directly from Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) without requiring public internet connectivity.
Complementing these native controls, Palo Alto Networks Advanced DNS Security is now available in preview on the Amazon Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall. Administrators can subscribe directly through the DNS Firewall console using an embedded AWS Marketplace widget, enforcing threat protections without deploying separate appliances or modifying underlying VPC configurations.
Infrastructure Expansion and High-Performance Hardware
Infrastructure modernization requires physical presence closer to data residency boundaries. AWS announced the launch of an AWS Local Zone in Hanoi, Vietnam, located in the ap-southeast-1-han-1a availability zone group. This deployment brings native support for Amazon S3 and Amazon EBS Local Snapshots, allowing local enterprises to fulfill strict data residency mandates.
Performance benchmarks for high-throughput compute also took a major leap. Amazon ECS service auto scaling now supports high-resolution 20-second metrics and optimized metric publishing. AWS internal benchmarking shows that time-to-trigger scale-out dropped from 363 seconds down to 86 seconds—a 76 percent improvement—while total time to provision new tasks plummeted from 386 seconds to 109 seconds.
On the hardware front, AWS introduced Amazon EC2 G7 instances accelerated by NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs, paired with custom sixth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These instances deliver up to a 4.6x increase in AI inference performance and up to 2.1x better graphics performance compared to previous-generation G6 instances.
Generative AI Expansion and Developer Tooling
Generative AI choices on Amazon Bedrock continue to expand with the integration of Grok 4.3 from xAI. Running on a newly engineered inference engine tailored for price-to-performance, Grok 4.3 supports advanced tool calling, structured outputs, and real-time response streaming for complex enterprise workflows.
Handling unstructured data at scale for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) got simpler with Amazon S3 annotations. Developers can now attach up to 1 GB of rich, mutable, and queryable context directly to S3 objects, eliminating the need to build and maintain separate external metadata databases.
For local development, AWS Blocks launched as an open-source TypeScript framework in preview. It spins up a fully functional local environment complete with PostgreSQL, authentication, and real-time messaging without requiring an active AWS account. When ready for production, developers can run identical code on AWS with zero modifications or drop down into the AWS CDK for granular resource tuning.
Strategic Price Reductions
AWS implemented significant cost reductions across several core services:
- Amazon S3 Vectors: Query charges have been reduced by up to 80% for large vector indexes, lowering the cost threshold for semantic search and RAG workloads without requiring application code changes.
- Amazon GameLift Servers: Network bandwidth entering and exiting AWS is now entirely free for generation 6 and later instance types, leaving customers to pay solely for instance compute hours.
- AWS Marketplace: Transaction listing fees for professional services dropped from 2.5% to 0.5%, easing economic friction for systems integrators and independent software vendors.
