AYANEO has now provided more details on the KUN, its largest gaming handheld to date and a competitor to the ONEXPLAYER 2 series. ONEXPLAYER 2. It should be noted that the KUN will not necessarily be much more powerful than other game consoles, including AYANEO consoles ON 1S, GEEK 1S or 2S. Previously, the company said it would offer the KUN with an AMD Ryzen 7000 APU and a discrete GPU (dGPU). However, it turns out that only the former was introduced to retail units.

Specifically, AYANEO will sell the KUN with the APU Ryzen 7 7840Ua popular APU among current generation gaming handhelds. The company will associate theRyzen 7 7840Uwith its “KUNPeng” cooling system, which features three copper heat pipes and is touted as offering “perhaps the strongest heat dissipation of Windows handhelds to date”. Thus, the AYANEO KUN could be able to maintain the cooling power of theRyzen 7 7840Uand its Radeon 780M iGPU at higher performance levels than other smaller gaming handhelds without thermal lag setting in.

Additionally, the KUN features an 8.4-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (2.5K) and a 16:10 aspect ratio. In other words, the KUN matches the size and resolution of all models of the ONEXPLAYER 2 series. AYANEO has, however, integrated a larger battery, which should have a capacity of 75 Wh (19,500 mAh). Elsewhere, the KUN features two touchpads, four rear buttons, an eight-way floating d-pad, and a Windows Hello-compatible infrared camera. Currently, AYANEO states that the KUN will be available “at the end of August” on Indiegogo. The company has yet to reveal pricing details, but its Indiegogo campaign is already searchable in preview.
