Ayurveda or the science of healing oneself

The first time I heard the word “ayurveda” was 12 years ago, in India, during a conference. I was so interested in the subject that, despite not being sick, I made an appointment for a consultation with the speaker, Dr. Shanit Kumar Kamlesh, a doctor specializing in Ayurveda. During the consultation, with two fingers on my wrist, he felt my pulse, looked into my eyes, and examined my tongue. He asked me many questions regarding my life habits. Then, he began to explain to me that people with a slim build like me… and then I interrupted him because at that moment I knew, because the doctor told me, that I am a person with a slim build. That day my life changed because the concept I had of myself changed. I understood that I was not fat by constitution, but by inflammation, and that this was the result of my daily decisions. So from that day on I had to learn to think, feel, eat, act and, in general, to live like the skinny that I am and not like the fat one that I thought I was.
