It will be celebrated for the 17th time on Thursday in Linz Castle – this year the new SP Federal Chairman Andreas Babler will be among the guests.
In addition to Babler, of course, as always, the entire political leadership of the Upper Austrian Social Democrats is represented in Linz Castle, from SP regional chief Michael Lindner, Linz Mayor Klaus Luger, state parliament club boss Sabine Engleitner-Neu to Labor Chamber President and ÖGB regional chief Andreas Stangl .
It will also be a mood test for the SPÖ following the turbulent search for a party leader. At the weekend, the Burgenland Federal Council mandator Günter Kovacs (SP) sharply criticized Babler, among other things because of his advocacy of 100 km/h on motorways. Yesterday, SP National Council club boss Philip Kucher went out to defend Babler. Kucher said he was “very annoyed” by Kovacs’ statements.
