A Babinsa Koramil 1624-06 Wulanggitang helped farmers harvest rice in the Boru Village area, Wulanggitang District, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Saturday (27/4).

A number of farmers were happy after their land was visited by a Babinsa in full uniform. They worked together to harvest rice even though they were affected by the volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Lewotobi several months ago.

The harvest activity for several hours involved TNI AD Soldiers with the position of Babinsa Pratu Bernardus Kelen. He picks rice with simple harvesting equipment belonging to village farmers.

Meanwhile, Danramil 1624-06 Wulanggitang Captain Inf Ismail Ratuloli said that his party routinely carries out agricultural activities.

“By providing assistance to residents who harvest rice, it is hoped that we can motivate them to increase agricultural yields,” he said.

He explained that agricultural monitoring is one of the steps to make the government’s program successful in realizing food self-sufficiency.

“This is Babinsa’s support as a regional apparatus in increasing food security in its target areas,” he explained. (Z-1)
