Vienna – In the fight once morest slowly falling inflation, SPÖ chairman Andreas Babler wants to resort to the constitution. The Social Democrats have been drumming up the drum for months that the government is failing to raise inflation. The latest idea: A “master plan once morest inflation” is to be decided at the federal party conference, with which “affordable living” will be given constitutional status. As an immediate measure, rents should be frozen and VAT on basic foodstuffs should be suspended.
