Baccinex, an essential link in the pharmaceutical industry

The SVC Suisse romande prize rewards an SME every two years for its exemplary character. It is organized alternately with the SVC Geneva Prize. This year, six finalists will compete for the distinction which will be presented on November 15 at the Swisstech Convention Center of EPFL, in Lausanne.

Little known to the general public, Baccinex was founded in 1999 by the Bausch family, historically active in the machinery industry. The company specializes in a niche market, namely the contract manufacturing of small batches of freeze-dried or liquid sterile products. She handles regarding 50 to 60 different clinical projects each year. The firm also produces commercial drugs in small quantities, in particular for orphan diseases, an activity which represents approximately a third of its turnover which is not communicated.
