Backbone One and other USB-C controls now work with iPhones 15

With the transition from the Lightning port to the USB-C on iPhones, some of the famous game controls will no longer need to have exclusive versions for Apple smartphones.

Backbone, responsible for Backbone Onefor example, has already announced that the USB-C control currently sold by the company will be compatible with the line iPhone 15.

Em an official statementthe company announced that all of its products equipped with USB-C now have universal compatibility with all smartphones with that port — which includes iPhones 15.

It is not necessary to purchase a new controller: if you already have one, simply update the controller’s firmware in the Backbone app for Android for this compatibility to be activated.

Razer was another one that ran against time and has already added iPhone support to the controller Kishi V2whose version with Lightning has already been reviewed here on MacMagazine.

According to 9to5Macthe list of devices already adapted to the “new” iPhone standard still includes the Rotor Riot and the GameSir X3 — all of them currently with USB-C and Lightning versions.

Some manufacturers are expected to continue selling controls with the old standard for a while — after all, some iPhones with Lightning are still officially sold — but it is unlikely that they will see new releases.
