On Saturday morning, part of the Holzbau Saller building in Bad Hofgastein caught fire. As the fire department reports, several emergency calls were received at around 6 a.m., triggering alert level three. The emergency services were able to bring the fire under control at 6:50 a.m. The fire was reported shortly following 7 a.m. According to initial information, the western part of the building and the wood chip warehouse were on fire. The Floriani had to open parts of the facade to combat embers. A total of 122 emergency services were deployed, 103 of whom were firefighters from the Gastein, Hofgastein, Dorfgastein, St. Johann and Kleinarl fire departments. On Saturday morning, a vehicle with five emergency services was still on site to keep fire safety watch.
