Bahrain’s Compassionate Touch for Earthquake Victims; First aid provided

Bahrain has handed over the first phase of relief aid to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. In the first phase, 40 tonnes of essential goods and medical equipment worth one million dollars were handed over.

The first phase of aid was handed over to the earthquake-affected areas in a ceremony held under the patronage of Sheikh Nasir bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of the King of Bahrain for Youth and Charity Affairs and Chairman of the National Earthquake Relief Committee. He expressed special gratitude to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who ordered the necessary assistance as soon as the disaster occurred.

Bahrain is at the forefront of solidarity with all those suffering in the world and providing all possible help. He pointed out that since the announcement of the relief plan, people from different sectors of the society have come forward with various types of help, which is proof of the humanity and love of the Bahraini people.

He added that Turkey will stand with the people of Syria and help until the crisis is over. Since the announcement of the project, the Royal Humanitarian Foundation has been active, Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Assayed said. Turkey’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Aysan Cakil expressed his gratitude for Bahrain’s assistance.
