JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Baim Wong back into the spotlight after he and his wife, Paula Verhoeven, made material about fictitious domestic violence (KDRT) events to the police and recorded them and then uploaded them to their YouTube account.
Baim Wong has deleted a video about a domestic violence “prank” to the Kebayoran Lama Police, South Jakarta. However, a number of other accounts on YouTube had re-uploaded the show.
While pretending to make a domestic violence case report, it was Paula who was in charge of reporting it to the police.

While Baim sat in the car accompanied by a driver and monitored Paula’s activities which were recorded on camera.
The police on duty at first did not know the woman was Paula because of the mask she was wearing.
He then asked Paula to take off her mask and began to recognize Paula.
“Paula?” said the police officer on duty in shock.
“Yes, Paula,” said Baim Wong’s wife.
“Subhanallah,” replied the policeman still in disbelief.
The police officer who had not been in uniform had returned to his room to wear a uniform because he wanted to handle Paula’s report.
Not long after, Baim, who was waiting outside the Kebayoran Lama Police Station, met Paula in the reporting room.
The policeman immediately realized that he was beingprank by Baim and Paula.
“Prank Yes?” said the policeman.
Baim and Paula also laughed while agreeing that they were doing a prank by pretending to make a domestic violence case report.
As a result of the material in the video, Baim Wong was scorned by a number of circles. Because he is considered insensitive and tends to play with the issue of domestic violence and the police who receive complaints.

In addition, Baim’s actions are considered to violate the criminal law because they are considered to make fake report to the police.
False report offense and the threat of punishment
The threat of sanctions against parties who make false reports to the police is regulated in Article 220 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).Criminal Code).
Article 220 of the Criminal Code reads: whoever informs or complains that there is an act punishable by law, while he knows that the act did not actually exist, shall be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of one year and four months.
There are 3 elements that must be met regarding the alleged crime of false reports, namely:
- The existence of legal subjects or people who do.
- Commit an act in the form of notifying or complaining of a criminal act.
- The criminal act that is notified or reported is known to have not been committed or did not occur.
If the party who made the false report is then brought to court, but he still submits a false confession before a judge, then he can also be sanctioned with another article, namely Article 242 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code regarding false information.
The contents of Article 242 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code are as follows:
Article 242
(1) Whoever, in a situation where the law dictates to give information under oath or to have legal consequences for such information, intentionally gives false information under oath, either orally or in writing, personally or by his special proxies. appointed for this purpose, shall be punished by a maximum imprisonment of seven years;
(2) If a false statement on oath is given in a criminal case and harms the accused or suspect, the guilty person is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of nine years.
