Ball’s hard work commendable: Ex-fielding coach praised

Mumbai: The former fielding coach of the Indian cricket team, R. Shridhar. Sridhar points to Rishabh Pant’s hard work to excel in wicket-keeping. Sridhar said Pant is a player who works hard to improve his wicket-keeping skills.

Sridhar said that when Saha was included in the playing eleven and Pant was put on the bench, Pant went through tough training to get back to the team. Rishabh Pant trained at home and worked hard during Covid. The Premier League season that followed was not good for Ball. When KL Rahul became the team’s wicketkeeper, Pant also lost his wicketkeeping position. But after many attempts the ball came back better. Pant worked very hard during the Auss series too, says R Sridhar.

“He was only focused on improving his wicket-keeping in training. Did not come out to bat. No one has ever done that in modern cricket. But the ball did. I can write a book about it.” – Sridhar said. Rishabh Pant is currently India’s first wicket keeper in Test and ODI. Along with Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant is also a wicket-keeper in the T20 World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, Pant is not in form at the moment. After being out of form in the Asia Cup, the inclusion of the star in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup has been heavily criticized. Continually giving the ball away was also criticised. But the ball has a better record on Australian soil. Considering this situation, the ball was given precedence.
