BAM Weekly Indicators: Dirham Exchange Rates, Reserve Assets, and Central Bank Interventions

Here are five key points from BAM’s weekly indicators for the period from December 21 to 27:

1- The dirham appreciated by 1.34% once morest the euro and 2.31% once morest the dollar;

2- During this period, no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market;

3- As of December 22, official reserve assets (AOR) stood at 358.6 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), down 1.2% from one week to the next and up 6.3 % year-on-year;

4- BAM interventions stood, on a daily average, at 122.2 billion dirhams;

5- During the call for tenders on December 27 (value date December 28), the Central Bank injected an amount of MAD 60.1 billion in the form of 7-day advances.
