Bank deposits in Morocco exceed 1,000 billion dirhams

Deposits with banks recorded, at the end of December 2021, an annual increase of 5.2% to stand at 1,061.9 billion dirhams (MMDH), according to the dashboard “credits and bank deposits” of Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

Household deposits stood at 786.4 billion dirhams, an annual increase of 4% with 185.8 billion dirhams held by Moroccans residing abroad (MRE), while deposits from private companies increased by 8.2 % to 170.4 billion dirhams, specifies the Central Bank.
