The webshop of the bankrupt BCC will be closed from Monday. In addition, the physical stores of the electronics chain that are still open will be holding a bankruptcy sale from Monday. The company also gives high discounts.
Trustees Joris Lensink and Thijs Hekman reported this in a statement. They also report that products can no longer be returned or exchanged. Due to the bankruptcy, BCC cannot refund money.
It is not clear what the closure of the online store and the bankruptcy sale means for a possible restart of the electronics chain. Curators and their spokespersons are not yet available.
BCC went bust last month. Due to rising costs and declining income, the company was no longer able to keep its head above water. For example, the electronics seller is affected by online competitors such as Coolblue and the fact that consumers have become more frugal due to inflation was a factor.
Things had not been going well for a long time at BCC, which had sixty stores in the Netherlands. As a result, cuts have been made. However, this did not lead to a turnaround, so owner Mirage Retail saw no other solution than to file for bankruptcy.
The curators are currently working on a possible restart. It is not clear whether this will actually happen and under which owner this should happen.
