Banning Lavrov’s plane is a primitive way for Europe to show its unity

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described preventing Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s plane from flying to the airspace of 3 European countries to Serbia as a “primitive measure to demonstrate the unity of Europe.”

She stressed that “it is impossible to cut off contacts between Russia and the rest of the countries, and cooperation continues, including with the countries of the Middle East, Asia and its closest neighbours.”

“The Russian delegation was supposed to arrive in Belgrade, but the member states of the European Union and NATO closed their airspace and cut off another channel of communication” with Russia, she added.
