‘Barberian’ takes the top spot at the box office

In its premiere, the horror movie “Barberian” held enough moviegoers in the United States and Canada this weekend to top the box office, according to preliminary figures released by Exeter Relations.
Analyst David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research called Barberian’s $10 million in its first shows a “good start” for a low-budget horror movie. The film, produced by “Twentieth Century” and “New Regency”, deals with the story of a woman, played by Georgina Campbell, who rents a house in “Detroit”, but finds out upon her arrival that someone else has booked it.
