Adama Traoré will be, in principle, until June 30 in the ranks of the FC Barcelona. On that date, his loan expires and the Catalans will have to decide whether or not to execute the purchase option they have on the player from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, for around 30 million euros. It is an amount that the Catalans could not afford for the summer and, if they decide to stay with the footballer, they will look for a formula to lower costs.
From ‘AS’ they had announced a couple of days ago that at Barça they want to wait longer to give the last word regarding the future of Adama. They explained, in fact, that sources close to the Blaugrana entity recognize that “we have to wait, it’s still early to make a decision”, so it is presumed that the final sentence of the far right will arrive shortly before the end of the season.
However, now the alleged promise that they made from Barcelona to Adama before finalizing his transfer to the culé team has been revealed. The player gave the ‘OK’ during the Christmas holidays after having a meeting with Joan Laporta. In it, according to ‘SPORT’, the president of the culé entity explained the conditions under which Barça could receive him: as a loan and with a salary adjustment.
He also informed him that the great effort would have a reward from the next season, when his salary would be improved as soon as the purchase option was executed (which is not mandatory). From Barça they have the commitment to specify their continuity, but it will not be so simple because it will depend on what Wolverhampton ends up deciding… and what they can access.
Jorge Mendes could be key
The player’s agent was already essential for him to arrive at the Camp Nou and it can also be so that he stays in the team. He will be in charge of sitting down to negotiate with Wolverhampton to find a formula that benefits both teams. In principle, the possibility of bartering with Francisco Trincão will be put on the table, but in recent weeks it has been reported that the English would not be very interested.
‘SPORT’ has highlighted that the possibility that offered to another Barça player and Riqui Puig would enter the scene. He already interested Wolves last summer and could be the bargaining chip for Traoré to stay in the Blaugrana team beyond June 30. On the other hand, the alternative is that Adama Traoré renew one more year with the Wolves and extend the loan at the Camp Nou.
