Barcelona meet with Messi; Will the player sign for Barca?
The discussion on social media has been active for the past few days as to whether Lionel Messi will stay there or join another club if his contract with PSG ends.
There are reports that on one hand, PSG is ready to renew the contract with the player, while on the other hand, Barcelona is also waiting for the return of the player.
But now Barca president Yon Laporta has revealed that he will meet the star in person on Monday. Laporta also hinted that he would talk to Lionel Messi, who left the club in the last summer transfer window. Laporta said that he will meet Messi at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
Barcelona’s all-time great Lionel Messi will leave the club in the 2021 summer transfer window. The relegation came after Barcelona were unable to offer Messi a new contract due to severe financial difficulties.
Laporta said that Messi will be seen after it was revealed the other day that Messi’s statue will be installed in Camp Nou as a tribute to their legendary player.
He added that they will do whatever it takes to pay tribute to Messi, the greatest player in Barcelona’s history, and do something special as this Sunday marks the 18th anniversary of Messi’s debut in Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Laporta did not comment on whether he would try to bring Messi back.
