FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández praised 15-year-old winger Lamine Yamal after including him in a squad for the first time ahead of the home game against Atlético Madrid on Sunday in LaLiga.
The young striker, born in Mataró, on the outskirts of Barvelona, to a Moroccan father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, is the youngest player in history to be called up by Barcelona in an official match.
Yamal, who has played with the Spanish U-17 team, has hardened at La Masía, Barcelona’s academy.
