Bassitt agrees to three years with the Blue Jays (report)

The Blue Jays have reached a three-year, $63 million deal with the free agent right-hander. Chris Bassitta source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand on Monday.

The club has not confirmed the news.

Bassitt, 33, is coming off career-highs in wins (15), innings pitched (181.2) and strikeouts (167) with the Mets in 2022, while posting a 3.42 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 30 starts. He became a free agent following turning down his portion of a mutual option for 2023 for $19 million.

New York acquired the veteran right-hander from the A’s. Bassitt spent six seasons in Oakland, where he posted a 3.44 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP in 527 innings.
