Chairman of the ICR Alexander Bastrykin instructed to conduct a procedural check in relation to the deputy of the Novosibirsk City Council Helga Pirogova, the department said in a July 21 report. Earlier, she wrote a post on social networks with harsh statements about the dead Russian servicemen.
The deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region, the City Council of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk District of the region asked the head of the TFR to check on the fact of the recording made by Helga Pirogova. Signatures under the statement were left by 17 deputies.
Prior to that, on July 18, Andrei Panferov, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region, published an open letter to Mayor Anatoly Lokt and the Council of Deputies of the city on his VKontakte page. In it, he called Pirogova’s behavior blasphemous.
“This is also not consistent with universal human morality. In our country, the names of those who died in battle have always been surrounded by honor and respect,” he said.
Subsequently, Panferov also contacted the prosecutor and demanded that a criminal case be opened. Pirogova herself commentedthat her post was indeed too emotional, but the words that angered fellow deputies were taken out of context.
