Batili urges notables and all social leaders to support the electoral process

Libya – As part of his initiative to enable elections through an inclusive path, Special Representative of the Secretary-General Abdullah Batili met on Friday with a group of notables and sheikhs from Cyrenaica on the sidelines of the Joint Military Committee meeting and military and security leaders held in Benghazi.

In a tweet by the UN mission on the social networking site “Twitter”, the notables stressed their commitment to national reconciliation and the comprehensive political process to ensure holding presidential and parliamentary elections in 2023.

For his part, Batelli urged dignitaries and all social leaders to actively participate in providing full support for the electoral process and support for peaceful elections this year.
