Battery manufacturer Hithium joins Chile's Clean Energy Association

Hithium, a specialist in stationary energy storage, has become a member of Chile’s renewable energy association, ACERA. The manufacturer signed a contract with the group at an event it organized for industry partners and colleagues in Santiago, where Hithium representatives also introduced the company and its latest product innovations to the regional market.

A non-profit trade association founded in 2003, ACERA is focused on connecting stakeholders in the renewable energy market, as well as promoting the transition to clean energy and greater energy efficiency in Chile.

Following its debut in the global energy storage market earlier this year, Hithium introduced its first 5 MWh “∞ Block” container system, which Hithium Director of Global Applications Engineering Neil Bradshaw presented in detail at the event from the company.

Bradshaw explained: “The system provides a leap in energy density, as well as simplifying installation. Using dual-channel module technology, Hithium has designed the modules to be inserted from one side only, allowing subsequent maintenance to occur on one side only. This means that containers can be placed not only side by side, but also back to back, so project owners need up to 20% less surface area. Likewise, all cabling exits the containers from the side rather than underneath the container, allowing installers to significantly save on foundation costs.”

Hithium’s “Hi Society” event took place at the W Santiago Hotel, where the manufacturer hosted around 70 members of the regional renewable energy community.
