Leverkusen – The German pharmaceutical company Bayer settles a lawsuit over alleged false of its controversial weed killer Roundup by paying $6.9 million (€6.4 million). New York Attorney General Letitia James said on Thursday. After the agreement, Bayer and its US subsidiary Monsanto will no longer be allowed to advertise that Roundup products containing the active ingredient glyphosate are safe and non-toxic, James said.
