Long traffic jams on many Bavarian motorways: Travelers have to be patient before Christmas. One stretch of highway is particularly affected.
Munich – Shortly before Christmas, according to the General German Automobile Club (ADAC) the travel wave. “We have traffic jams in all directions,” said a spokesman ADAC on Friday, December 22nd. All motorways in the Free State are affected. People are traveling from everywhere, visiting relatives, going on vacation or shopping, said the spokesman.

The weather requires drivers to pay particular attention, for example when overtaking trucks. The traffic stalled loudly for the longest time ADAC on Friday afternoon on the Autobahn 8 from Munich towards Salzburg, where the journey was stop and go for over 22 kilometers. There are also several traffic jams ten or more kilometers long, said the spokesman.
The automobile club also expects heavy traffic on the roads throughout Germany on Saturday. However, things are likely to be a little quieter on Christmas Eve.
