BB.lv: A cold front is approaching Latvia: weather forecasters warn of snow

A cold front will pass through Latvia on Sunday; weather forecasters predict that next week the temperature will drop below normal, writes LETA.

On Saturday evening the weather is expected to be cloudy and rainy, with little precipitation during the day and some sunshine. The air temperature at night will drop to +4..+9 degrees, during the day to +9..+14 degrees, in some places on the coast up to +7 degrees.

The same temperature will remain on Sunday. As a cold front moves in from the west, showers are expected in many places before clearing up from the west in the afternoon.

The westerly wind will intensify – during the day on Sunday and at night on Monday its gust speed will reach 18-23 meters per second over a large part of the country.

There will be occasional showers over the next week, with the possibility of snow, hail and thunder. In the first half of the week, the air temperature at night will drop to -2..+5 degrees, and during the day in the sun it will reach +10..+12 degrees; in the second half of the week it will become several degrees colder.
