LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bradley Beal scored a season-high 37 points on a night in which he made eight 3-pointers, leading the Phoenix Suns to a 127-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.

Devin Booker added 31 points, while Kevin Durant had 18 for the Suns, who had lost their previous five games once morest the Lakers. Frank Vogel scored his first victory over his previous team.

Vogel led Los Angeles for three seasons, including 2020, when he won the NBA title in the Disney World “bubble.”

D’Angelo Russell scored 19 points off the bench for the Lakers, who fell to 5-11 since winning the In-Season tournament last month. Seven Los Angeles players contributed in double figures, but the Lakers had 17 turnovers, which led to 28 points from Phoenix.

Beal scored 10 points in the third quarter. The Suns took their biggest lead of the game at the beginning of the fourth quarter, with 32 points.
