Change in the NEOS parliamentary club: Sepp Schellhorn succeeds the departing Innsbruck top candidate Julia Seidl

Vienna (OTS) – After NEOS National Council member Julia Seidl announced that she would concentrate entirely on work in her hometown as the top candidate for the Innsbruck municipal council election, the successor for the vacant mandate has now been decided. At the end of February, restaurateur Sepp Schellhorn will return to the pink National Council club after two and a half years.

“I would like to thank Julia for her great work in the National Council over the past few years. She has championed the concerns of young people, SMEs, tourism and cultural workers with great passion and expertise. The expansion of child care was particularly important to her personally. Your step of wanting to concentrate entirely on Innsbruck and not, like others, sticking with half a foot and heart to a job in Vienna despite the election campaign, deserves respect and shows what we NEOS mean by a new style: NEOS don’t do things by halves.” NEOS club chairwoman and party leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger thanks her outgoing colleague in the National Council. Julia Seidl is “the right person to show with all her energy that NEOS will continue to be the constructive force in the next Innsbruck local council, putting concrete results ahead of pointless arguments.”

“Relieve those who secure jobs and prosperity”

Sepp Schellhorn, a colleague with whom the Pinken’s collaboration has intensified in recent months, will be returning in a few weeks. In his role as an entrepreneur, he was involved, among other things, in the location index and the “SME regulars’ tables” of Meinl-Reisinger’s economic platform “Aufschwung Austria”.

“Sepp stands for the concerns of medium-sized entrepreneurs and their employees like no other. I am very pleased to have his practical experience and political strength back in the ranks of our representatives,” said Meinl-Reisinger. Together, it is now about “finally honestly and noticeably relieving those who secure jobs and prosperity and giving entrepreneurs the freedom they need instead of pruning them with bureaucracy.”

By the way, the next opportunity to do this has already been scheduled. Before his return as a member of parliament, Sepp Schellhorn, together with NEOS Secretary General Douglas Hoyos, will be inviting people to another “SME get-together” organized by “Aufschwung Austria” on January 11th in Carinthia.
