Beating the Heat: Expert Tips for Staying Safe in Extreme Temperatures

The World Meteorological Organization expects temperatures to stay above 40C in North America, Asia, North Africa and the Mediterranean as heat waves intensify globally through August.

With the scorching heat comes new warnings regarding health problems and the risk of premature death from too much exposure to excessive temperatures, affecting everyone from toddlers to the elderly.

We asked to Daniel Gagnonassociate professor at the School of Kinesiology and Human Kinetics at the University of Montreal, what people can do to mitigate these risks.
