Kochi: The first song of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, has been released. The beautiful melody depicts the romantic moments in the life of the Major.
The music was composed by Sricharan Pakkala and the lyrics were penned by Sam Mathew AD and sung by young singer Iron. Sandeep Unnikrishnan will be played by Adivi Shesh. The film will be directed by Shashi Kiran Tikka.
G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and Sony Pictures International Productions are owned by actor Mahesh Babu.
The 120-day film uses eight sets and more than 75 locations. Apart from Hindi and Telugu, Major is also releasing in Malayalam. Shobhita Dhulipala, Sai Manjrekar, Prakash Raj and Revathi play other important roles.
Earlier, activists had released a video of Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s classmate Sajee Manjrekar describing his high school days.
Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was the NSG commando who rescued 14 civilians during the 2008 terrorist attacks. Sandeep Unnikrishnan Veeramrityu died while rescuing an injured soldier.
Sandeep Unnikrishnan was born in Cheruvannur, Kozhikode district. He later moved to Bangalore.
The film, directed by ‘Gudachari’ fame Shashi Kiran Tika, was slated for a worldwide release in 2022. But the release was postponed as the Kovid threat intensified. PRO Athira Diljith.
