Because of homosexuality .. Disney removes the movie “Lighttier” from its platform in the Middle East

The giant Disney has removed its movie “Lighttier” from its streaming platform “Disney Plus” in the Middle East, after the movie was originally banned from showing in cinemas in 14 countries in the region because it contained a “gay kiss”.

It seems that the giant company is ready to culturally normalize with the policies of the countries of the region regarding homosexuality and human rights, in exchange for achieving spread amid competition with other, more popular platforms such as “Netflix”.

However, while the platform will not display LGBT content in films and series shown for children, it will still show other adult works that contain similar scenes, including the movie “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, which was banned from cinemas in Arab countries as well, With the rise in the official obsession in the Middle East with the issue of homosexuality and the emphasis on individual freedoms.

The Hollywood Reporter commented: Disney Plus “appears to be willing to satisfy regional cultural sensitivities in terms of its content.”

A spokesperson for the company told the site that “Disney Plus content varies across many of the platform’s markets, and depends on several factors, and the content displayed must comply with local regulatory requirements,” and also confirmed that the platform provides parental controls to allow families to decide what their children are watching.
